Introducing the 1.4 Gallon Aqua-Ponic Fish Tank and Planter by PENN-PLAX! Our cutting-edge fish tank is crafted from ultra-clear plastic, offering a window into nature's metabolic cycle. It creates a harmonious environment where fish and plants thrive together: as fish release waste in the tank, the plant above absorbs this waste as nourishment, effectively purifying the tank's water. For those with a passion for hydroponic plant growth, our tanks can also serve exclusively as planters, enabling you to customize nutrient levels.
Ideal Fish Selection: While Betta fish remain a popular choice for our 1.4 Gallon Aqua-Ponic Tank, it can also accommodate other small fish species such as Bloodfin Tetras, White Cloud Minnows, Danios, and Guppies (1 – 3 fish). For Betta fish, we recommend lowering the water level by an inch, providing them with ample access to the water's surface.
Recommended Plants: Our tank welcomes a wide variety of indoor house plants and kitchen herbs for planting atop. You can choose from options such as Peace Lily, Chinese Evergreen, Lucky Bamboo, English Ivy, Mint, Watercress, Chives, and various leafy Lettuce varieties. We recommend using established plants rather than starting from seeds. Before planting, it's crucial to research the toxicity and nutritional requirements of your selected plant, as fish may nibble on the roots. It's essential to note that the plant itself is not a food source for the fish. When feeding your fish, avoid overfeeding, as it can cloud the water and harm both fish and plants.
Additional Features: Our Aqua-Ponic Tanks are equipped with ceramic planting media, which retains water and supports robust root growth for your chosen plants. Place larger pieces on the bottom of the enclosed pot to prevent accidental falls into the aquarium. To add water to the tank, simply water the plant, as if it were in a pot of soil.
